In Sydney today is the 4th of January the day of the New Moon.
The First New Moon for 2011 – so this is My New Year
Last Night I wrote my intentions and focus for the 12 Moon Cycles ahead.
I wrote these as mind maps – that is words radiating out from a central point capturing all the ideas as they grow from each other.
Yesterday, the day before the New Cycle, and today the sky has been mostly uniform white made form layers of same colour cloud that are too bright to look directly into.
I’ve been with Cherokee Elder Grandmother Pa’Ris’Ha when she has described this as a Cacoon. A cacoon of protection that facilitates the birthing of new. I’ve had times in these conditions where time has appeared to really slow down – almost a timeless time.
My most memorable experience was in last years (2010) Sun Ceremony where I was a Dancer in the Arbor (Circular outdoor dance area). One the third day we had a Cacoon of Bright White Cloud and I felt I was in another World – still on Earth yet within a place where time was different, no distractions only focus on the intentions i had. I also felt the presents of many supportive and guiding, watching – the Ancients.
So here now in Sydney for the first day of the New Moon Cycle there is again the Cacoon. Last night just before midnight and upto about 12.30am there was gentle light rain. I went and stood in it looking up to teh sky. Recalling the words from the evening prayer given to me by Grandmother Pa’Ris’Ha.
“I Love the Rain
It is the Grandmothers
Water is Life – I’ve heard this from many all over the world – including in Egypt last year where the divide between desert sand and lush riverine edge is as clear as a knife.
The gentle rain was water birthing in the intentions set for the New Cycle. The first Moon Cycle of 2011.
The Next Moon Cycle start is the 3rd of February and the Moon Calendar states
“this is a day for letting go of old patterns and doing something inspirational”
Wishing you all the best for this Cycle and 2011
All the Best
